On Wednesday, July 18, 2012 Duran Duran‘s iconic bass guitarist, John Taylor, revealed the first look at the front and back gatefold book covers, including artwork and photos, for his greatly anticipated autobiography, In The Pleasure Groove: Love, Death And Duran Duran, via the band’s Official Facebook page and also at the book’s publisher sites (Penguin and Little Brown Books).
John’s memoirs will be available for sale, October 16, 2012, in the Unites States through Dutton Books, and on September 13, 2012, in the UK & Australia through Sphere Publishers.
The publishers announced that “The book will be available in hardcover, eBook, limited edition signed audiobook, and downloadable audio. Every edition will have more than 100 black and white and color photos of John from his childhood through today.”
The tell all book offers a vivid behind the scenes, insider look at the outrageous partying lifestyle, career highs and lows, and of course phenomenal music and iconic videos, of Taylor and his legendary UK band, Duran Duran. The group first catapulted to stratospheric fame courtesy of the MTV video airwaves of the 1980’s, continuing on to today with their sparkling blend of pop meets rock anthems that have brought them international acclaim.
Duran Duran has been distinguished with the most prestigious and momentous honor of performing at a gala concert to kick off the opening day ceremonies for the London Olympics on July 27, 2012, at London’s Hyde Park along with Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, and Paolo Nutini.
The band also just released the live, concert documentary film, A Diamond In The Mind, on CD, DVD and Blu-ray which feature the band performing their immense repertoire of hits at Manchester’s MEN Arena on December 16, 2011, as well as featuring behind the scenes tour footage, special bonuses, and interviews with the band.
