Guitar International’s Publisher Releases The Adventures of Digit & Tess Children’s Book

Rick Landers, Guitar International’s publisher and multi-award singer-songwriter  announced the release of his first children’s book in a series called, “The Adventures of Digit & Tess,” now available in in hardback, paperback, and eBook editions.

The series is about a young Canadian girl named, Tess Hopper, and her companion an AI-robotic cat, Tess named, Digit. The two have a few challenges, but by the end of the book, and their first adventure to Niagara Falls, they become friends.

The book is set up to be read by a child and a parent, or with an older sibling or educator. At the back of the book is a compendium of facts, trivia and information related to the first book’s theme: Electricity. So, as enjoyable as the adventure story is, there’s the “Digi-Facts” section at the back of the book to be enjoyed by older readers!

Rick performs his original songs primarily in the Washington, D.C. area that includes Northern Virginia and Maryland. His first book about press releases for working musicians was co-written with Dr. Matthew Warnock.. He and his band, Heartland, will soon release their debut album, and two five-song EPs. His eclectic music roams around various styles: Americana, Folk, jazz, pop and includes: love ballads, bouncy fun pop songs, country tunes and more, and can be listened to HERE.

Landers has performed at the National Cherry Blossom Festival three times, the Washington Folk Festival, the Herndon, Virginia Festival, the W&OD Trail Family Fun Fest, the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa, Reston Virginia’s Founders Day, and more. He and his fellow musicians have been recording his original tunes at the legendary BIAS Studios in Virginia, where many legends have recorded, including: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dave Matthews, Cher, Linda Ronstadt, Tony Rice, Danny Gatton, Jerry Douglas, Roy Buchanan, and many more.

Beginning as Modern Guitar magazine in 2004, Rick’s Guitar International magazine has been a FREE resource about acoustic and electric guitars for two decades (2004-2024). He has interviewed such music icons as: Les Paul, Slash, Steve Earle, Buddy Guy, Roger McGuinn, Judy Collins, Jesse Colin Young, Arlo Guthrie, Jimmy Webb, and more.
