Jack Taylor announces release date of debut instrumental album ‘Songs For You’. Jack’s debut album is due for release on April 22nd.
Songs For You is a personal insight into the trials and tribulations Jack faced after losing his father to cancer in 2014. Battling with grief, Jack turned to music to deal with his own personal loss.
“Getting lost in the writing, recording and mixing process was my own way of dealing with my personal grief. Me and my dad shared a deep relationship with music together, he took me to my first guitar lessons, gigs and was a key part of my musical journey. Songs For You is my way of saying thank you to him for exposing me to music in the way that he did” – Jack Taylor.
With Jack’s own multi-instrumental talents and the additional help of session drummer Mark Hooper (Me and Deboe, High Frequency) and mastering engineer James Wyatt (Wax Tree Cast, Dan Whitehouse) at Sloe Flower Records, ‘Songs For You’ is now due for release on all major streaming platforms, April 22nd, 2022.
Jack’s main musical influences include artists such as Pat Metheny, Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy) and Sigur Ros. As a result of this, Songs For You is a mixture of Jack’s love for jazz harmony, progressive rock grooves and atmospheric soundscapes. With these elements combined, ‘Songs For You’ is a well-rounded piece of work that is diverse and individualistic.
