The Contortionist
Indiana-based progressive metal unit The Contortionist have announced a leg of United States tour dates for fall 2018. The Contortionist are four studio albums and three EPs into their nine year career, yet already have developed a bold reputation for their unique atmospheric approach through extensive treks alongside such modern prog heavyweights as Animals As Leaders, Born of Osiris, and Nothing More.
With their upcoming run, dubbed ‘The Reimagined’ tour, The Contortionist are aiming to continue this streak through an expanded approach to the stage.
“The Rediscovered concept was born from a desire to escape and redefine the rules of a show,” says keyboardist Eric Guenther. “We want to include our fans in an experience reflective of The Contortionist’s wide range of dynamics, not only on the scale of heaviness or intensity but in tone and texture.”
‘The Reimagined’ 2018 tour will emphasize two dynamic sets from The Contortionist, one featuring a full production and the second offering a stripped down, intimate experience with the band. “Our goal is to invite the listener closer and show ourselves in a fresh new way for our fans who have evolved with us and embraced our sonic exploration over the years,” explains Guenther. “This is an opportunity to ‘pull out all the stops’ and integrate the crowd into the changing aura of the room as we dig deep, reimagine, and give ever-echoing life to our music.”
The Contortionist’s ‘Reimagined’ tour will feature selections from across their entire catalog, as well as support from Intervals.
