Rockin’ the RED in D.C. Part II

While the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. is home to the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and their rally cry to “Rock the Red”, it would be The RED Tour of multi-platinum superstar Taylor Swift doing the rocking on this evening, for the first of back to back sold out performances.

There are few artists these days capable of selling out an arena or stadium…and even fewer can command two sold out nights.

That is usually a status reserved for the most established of rock legends, of which you can count on one hand.

Well, the time has come to perhaps start thinking about adding to that club of concert elites.

A spring evening thunderstorm hovering over the Nation’s Capital would prove no match for the energy circulating in the Verizon Center as over 14,000 fans of all ages, in all matter of outfit, costume and some even adorned in strings of Christmas lights worked themselves to a fever pitch for one of the biggest shows of the year.

In addition to a solid musical performance, Swift brings a stage show second to none; drawing upon influences from some of the all time stage masters [KISS, Madonna, Michael Jackson], yet managing to make it all uniquely her own, and in keeoing within the perfect family entertainment package…not to mention transitions to multiple stages and enough wardrobe changes to make Cher proud.

As the tour continues though the spring and summer, fans can expect to hear all of their favorite Taylor hits, numbers from her recent release, RED, and a few surprises, as well.

With the economy still shaky and the average family having less disposable income for entertainment, rest assured those of you who invest in a ticket to see Taylor Swift will reap great dividends.  This is a show that is a must for any fan, not just of Taylor Swift, but of great music and entertainment.
