The fans have spoken and as a result, Sevendust has scored their first-ever #1 on the Billboard charts, taking over the “Top Hard Music Albums” chart next week.
Black Out The Sun—released March 26 on the band’s own 7Bros. Records in conjunction with ADA Label Services–is the Atlanta band’s best-selling album in its first week since 2007’s Alpha.
Elsewhere in Billboard, Black Out The Sun will debut at #18 on the “Top 200 Albums” chart, #4 on the “Record Label Independent Current Albums” chart, #5 on the “Top Current Rock Albums” chart, #14 on the “Overall Digital Albums” chart and #17 on the “Top Internet Albums” chart.
The album’s first single, “Decay,” is currently bulleted on the BDS Active Rock Chart at #11 and the Mediabase Active Rock chart at #12. It has also spent the past four weeks in the #1 spot on SiriusXM’s “Big Uns” countdown on the Octane active rock channel. A video for the track premiered on Fuse‘s website () last week, and can now be seen on the band’s official YouTube page HERE.
SEVENDUST–Lajon Witherspoon [vocals], Morgan Rose [drums/vocals], Clint Lowery [guitar/vocals], John Connolly [guitar/vocals] and Vince Hornsby [bass/vocals]–continues to prove why they’re the hardest touring band in Rock today as they criss-cross the U.S. on their co-headlining tour with Coal Chamber, along with Lacuna Coil and Candlelight Red, which is currently underway. Starting April 30, the band will play headlining shows joined by such bands as Pop Evil and In This Moment. Stops at festival shows, including Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH on Sunday, May 19, will be made throughout the on-going headlining tour.
