Legendary rock photographer, Robert Knight, established the Brotherhood of the Guitar in order to promote emerging young guitarists. Guitar International will feature the young pups here on our pages in a series of Brotherhood of the Guitar bio sketches by Mr. Knight.
Born not two decades ago, Harrison Russell Whitford has already experienced a multitude of events that one could only hope to in the span of a lifetime. Having picked up the guitar at the tender age of 13, Harrison has since shared the stage with a multitude of legendary artists, such as Hubert Sumlin, Aerosmith, Eric Johnson, Jnnny Lang, Chris Layton (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble), Billy Cox, Will Calhoun (Living Colour), Joe Satriani, and Robert Randolph.
Under the tutelage of three incredibly accomplished guitarists – his father, brother and a dear friend, Harrison developed a strong affinity for the blues whilst maintaining an extremely unique style. After several years of intense study and practice, Harrison has honed his talent to a point that most would consider to be well beyond his years.
Having recently moved to Nashville, Harrison intends to further broaden his horizons as an artist and further solidify his place as one of rock and roll’s brightest young stars.
