Legendary female metal icon Lita Ford, who is best known for her work with The Runaways and her solo career, featuring hit singles “Kiss Me Deadly” and the Billboard charting duet “Close My Eyes Forever” with Ozzy Osbourne, is ready to make a return to the throne as the queen of metal.
She has confirmed the release date for her new album Living Like A Runaway as June 19th in the US. The album will be available in four configurations: a double LP, limited edition CD, standard CD and digital download.
Coinciding with the album’s release, Lita is hitting the road this summer with Def Leppard and Poison on the “Rock of Ages Tour”. GI was able to have a quick chat with her to talk about the new CD.

Robert Cavuoto: I heard your new CD, Living Like a Runaway, is a back to true Lita Ford kick ass form. Can you tell us about it?
Lita Ford: It’s back to basics for me! I’m working with Gary Hoey who I work well with whether writing or playing guitar. He’s a great guy who gets me as a musician. The first thing I said to him when we started writing was we need to get back to basics on this CD. Let’s not to all this mechanical / digital stuff, just guitar, bass, drums with good riffs and hooks.
Robert: What can we expect from it?
Lita Ford: Great riffs. Its raw, dirty, rockin, nasty, sexy. People are gonna love this.
Robert: When will it be released?
Lita Ford: It will be released on June 19 in the US.
Robert: What is the best piece of advise you can give to people who want to follow your path as a musician?
Lita Ford: Follow your dreams, whatever they are, whether they are to be a rock ‘n’ roll star or a doctor. Don’t stop until you get there.
