M2M Public Relations informed that Legacy Learning Systems, one of the world’s premier multimedia instructional course and technology companies, announced the Learn & Master Guitar Live artist in residence for April 10, 2012 (7pm CST) as guitarist and entertainer Thom Bresh, son of the great Merle Travis. Bresh, a 2001 Inductee to the Thumb Pickers Hall of Fame and recipient of the 2007 President’s Award at the Thumb Pickers Hall of Fame, was raised in the middle of guitar royalty, Roy Lanham, Thumbs Carlisle, Jimmy Bryant, Curly Chalker, Joe Maphis and Leo Fender. Members of the elite guitar court who later became his close friends included Chet Atkins, Ernie Ball, James Burton, Scotty Moore, Jerry Reed, Les Paul and others. He has been nominated for both Grammy and Academy Awards and has hosted his own television program.
Bresh’s father, Merle Travis was one of the most influential American guitarists of the 20th Century. With the heritage, experience and upbringing Bresh received, he is a guitarist who always deserves to be heard. Bresh is known for laying into his father’s thumbpickin’ classics and leaving his audiences always wanting for more. As Buster B. Jones once said, “Bresh is a drop-top version of his daddy with a souped up engine and a whole lot more chrome.” You can view some impressive Bresh entertainment here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mo1RDVcD8w
