Motley Crue Bamboozle 2011 Review

Motley Crue held a press conference at in East Rutherford NJ at Bamboozle 2011 on May 1st to announce their summer headlining tour with Poison and special guest The New York Dolls. Fans can expect a burlesque type stage, seeing Tommy playing a rollercoaster drum set and hearing a fan picked set list. Tommy told the crowd that the coaster is set-up that he can grab a fan out of the crowd and take them on a ride! What the fuck?!

Any animosity between Motley Crue and Poison must have been worked out. It’s been reported numerous times that Nikki Sixx had taken some shots at Poison claiming if they toured with Poison that it would be the death of Motley Crue, “I will not be attached to that kind of fake bullshit.” Today, that’s all in the past and Motley Crue will be kicking ass and playing what the fans voted they wanted to hear.

Most of the songs are ones that you would expect like “Looks that Kill,” “Live Wire,” and “Home Sweet Home.” A few that you might not expect would be “Smokin in the Boys Room” and “Primal Scream.” Vince told the press that some of the songs haven’t been played live in 20 years!

Motley Crue closed Bamboolze by playing that very set list on the main stage. Vince was in killer form. He looked great, in shape and his voice was on the money. I’ve seen Motley Crue more times than I can remember and sometimes he can be a little off but tonight he was spot on and in my opinion truly carried the show. The ultimate front man!
