Thunderstruck cracks open AC/DC’s 1990 album Razor’s Edge
The song charted high on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks at #5, and the album was certified quintuple platinum (5 million copies sold) in the U.S. Thirteen years later, Razors Edge was re-released as part of the group’s remaster’s series. Both Angus and Malcolm Young, who plays rhythm to Angus’s lead, tend to drive Marshall stacks and Malcolm’s been known to occasionally use Wizards, Orange and Mesa-Boogie amps.
“Thunderstruck” has become a standard anthem and can be heard at baseball diamonds, football gridirons, rugby matches, professional wrestling face-offs and other adrenaline-driven events. Check out the 1999 film, Varsity Blues, or The Longest Yard (featuring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock) to catch the track on the big screen.
