What do you get when you combine some of the top metal bands, booze, stage diving and partying outside on a broiling hot New Jersey summer day? Hell, it must be the Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival. This festival, like the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, has two stages of live music and plenty of the same drunken craziness.

Performing on the main stage is Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour and Halestorm. On the Jägermeister Second Mobile Stage is Airbourne, Hell Yeah, Hail the Villain, New Medicine, and XFactor1.

Just like Mayhem Fest, if you can get you butt out of the parking lot, you can meet the bands at the Best Buy tents when you buy their CD. It doesn’t get much better than that! Some bands like Airbourne even do free signing at the Jägermeister tent.

Right from Airbourne’s opening song “Blonde, Bad and Beautiful”, lead singer and guitarist, Joel O’Keefe, with Budweiser in hand, unleashed a sweaty sonic assault on the crowd surfing fans. Their music is the perfect soundtrack for the drunken debauchery of the UPROAR Fest. The band was spot-on, pounding out classics from their two CDs like, “Too Much Too Young Too Fast”, “Runnin Wild”, “Chewin the Fat”, and “Girls in Black”.

Highlights of the short 30 minute set included when Joel gets carried on a roadie’s shoulders into the mosh pit and around the parking lot during “Girls in Black”. As fans clawed and grabbed at him like hungry vultures, he was pulled down only to be lifted up by the same crowd and carried back to the front of the stage. It was an insane moment!

With Airbourne, you can always expect the same “no bullshit” attitude and hard driving riffs that rival the likes of AC/DC, Judas Priest, and Motorhead. The band high energy performance left fans chanting their name long after they left the stage.

If the UPROAR Circus pulls up in your town, be sure to be there to witness some crazy debauchery and killer bands first hand. Also do yourself a favor and pick up Airbourne’s new CD No Guts, No Glory and KranK it up.
