Bret Michaels Live on Fox and Friends Review

By: Rob Cavuoto

Bret Michaels and his band rolled into NYC on Friday July 26th to pay tribute to the Men and Woman of the Military and 9/11 First Responders by playing live on the Fox and Friend’s Summer Concert Series.

Bret yelled out to the diehard fans who had lined up as early as 2:00am to see him, “Where else but the streets of New York can you do a sound check at 5:00am?”

Bret traveled directly from a Connecticut show the night before to New York with only 20 minutes sleep.

Later that same day he and his band were headed to Las Vegas to play another show!

By the time Bret hit the stage at 7:00am, the Fox and Friends pavilion on 48th Street and 6th Avenue was packed to maximum captivity.

The excited crowd spilled over to the sidewalk and eventually to the street blocking traffic. Everybody from fans to curious onlookers packed the area.

The band opened the mini-set with “Nothing but a Good Time,” then during  the two hour show went on to perform “Sweet Home Alabama,” “The App Song,” “Unskinny Bop,” and “Every Rose has its Thorn,” then closed with “Your Mama Don’t Dance” around 9:00am.

Bret has a new CD; Jammin’ with Friends, which includes reworks of his classic Poison and solo hits as well as few originals performed with dozens of his friends from the rock, rap, and country community like Michael Anthony, Ace Frehley and Joe Perry.

During one of the breaks he told the crowd that he and the band have only performed his new tune, “The App Song” once before – at sound check that morning.

That fans were in store for a true rock n roll moment to see if the band was going to be able to pull it off on National TV. Of course they did.

You would never know that he and the band only got 20 minutes sleep as they were all entertaining, charismatic, and energized.

Bret is the ultimate rock frontman; entertaining the crowd, giving high fives to fans, and throwing out smiles to all the girls.

After the show, being a true gentleman, he signed for all the fans from stage for over an hour!

Between Famous Dave’s grilling up some ribs and Bret supplying the tunes, it was a great start to a killer weekend.
