Only at NAMM can you stumble around a corner and find two of the best guitarists alive today jammin’ in a duo for a gathering crowd. Just such a thing happened to me this year as I turned a corner and literally ran into Steve Trovato and Carl Verheyen jamming at the LSL Guitar booth. After the two played a few tunes, they took turns showing each other a few cool Albert Lee chicken pickin’ licks that they liked, all to the joy and amazement of the crowd that had gathered to watch these two guitar titans tear it up.
Even after a long day of walking the floor, and reaching point of absolute exhaustion, it’s moments like this that revive one’s spirit after a long and hectic day.
