John Page
Guitar International is honored to have John Page join us as a charter member of our Board of Advisors. The GI Board of Advisors provides business and other valuable insights to us to help ensure our site presents the highest quality content for our readers.
John’s background is very well-known to the music community, as well as to many celebrity guitarists. Back in the mid-’80s, Texas builder Michael Stevens and John, a former Fender R&D engineer were asked to build a few custom instruments for artists, as well as some that would highlight the best of Fender for presentation at trade shows.

It didn’t take long for Fender aficionados to recognize that Stevens and Page were on to something very special. They were deluged with orders for more than 600 guitars and the rest, as they say, is history. John went on to build instruments for Eric Clapton, Peter Townshend, Jon Bon Jovi and other music legends.
“I was also fortunate enough to design instruments for some of the most historic and influential companies in the world… Walt Disney Studios, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Playboy Magazine and Jaguar Automobile,” notes John.

John’s curiousity and urge to explore new things continue as he has found enthusiasm in building custom furniture, designing a very cool guitar stand and is once again building guitars, but now under his own name. His organic creations feature sweeping curves that are both tasteful and functional, the sign of a skilled and artful craftsman.
