Global Economic Challenges of the Music Industry (November 21, 2008)
Since my last column entry for "Industry Views", Modern Guitars, the world has experienced significant change. Unless you live in a cave, you may have heard that there's a global "credit crunch." Ultimately, everyone has felt its impact. It's being called the largest "financial crisis" in modern history. I won’t go into who’s fault it is, (it wouldn’t change a damn thing either) but it’s safe to say that a few very greedy people have screwed it up for pretty much everyone else, including themselves in some cases. There is a saying, which goes, "It’s not about what happens in life, it’s about what you do when it happens." I think that sums it up, nicely. The question is, of course, is "What can we do?"
