CRH with Cher

From an early age, Craig Hunter Ross pretended to be “behind the scenes” in the music industry.  Whether it was sitting in his bedroom as a young child listening to 45rpm singles on his little Sears turntable pretending to “produce” the band, or spending Sunday services in church as an early teen sitting behind the mixing console observing the adjustment of every fader and knob, Craig knew that he wanted to be “in the mix”.

Craig spent several years in his early 20s-30s as the front of house engineer for a large church in Northern Virginia and began to photograph guest artists and friends around the area while mixing, discovering he enjoyed capturing them visually more than aurally.

In 2011, and somewhat on a lark, a friend suggested he inquire to be a concert photographer for a national live music website.  He was accepted and hooked day one, photographing shows and writing performance reviews and later conducting interviews.

Over the next few years, Craig interviewed several of music’s biggest names and classic rock legends.  Artists like Stewart Copeland (The Police), Jon Anderson (Yes), Keith Emerson (ELP), Greg Lake (ELP, King Crimson), Tommy Emmanuel, Don Felder, Trevor Rabin and many others.

He is currently the senior concert photographer for Live Nation in the DC/MD/VA area, as well as the official venue concert photographer for Jiffy Lube Live (25,000 amphitheater), The Theater at MGM National Harbor, Capital One Arena and Eagle Bank Arena.

Since 2011, Craig has photographed over 400 nationally known bands and artists and has done personal photo work for clients such as Cher, Ricky Martin, Bret Michaels, Bruno Mars, REO Speedwagon, Chris Rock, The Struts and countless WWE Hall of Famers (oh yeah, he does TONS of pro wrestling photography too).

Craig lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, two daughters and son, who is a nationally known and award winning Lego custom builder.
