Stephen Malkmus, frontman of the recently reunited Pavement and indie rock band Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, needs help replacing a naughty word for the radio edit of the Jicks’ new single, “Senator.” Since “blowjob” isn’t exactly radio fare, fans are being asked to be creative in coming up with a replacement.

Cheap Trick Stage Collapse Injures 8

Cheap Trick were the victims of a sudden stage collapse this past Sunday at the Ottawa Bluesfest in Toronto. A savage storm was the cause, according to organizers, who said that “the fact that (the storm) brought that stage down and nothing else came down in the park is just a freak situation.”

Pop-punk giants Blink 182 have released “Up All Night,” the first single from their long-awaited new album. You can listen to the track below.

The song will be featured on the band’s first effort since they released Blink 182 in 2003 and finds Tom Delonge, who had been spending his time with his band Angels and Airwaves, singing lead vocals.

Charlie Gilmour, the son of Pink Floyd guitar legend David Gilmour, has been sentenced to 16 months in jail for violent disorder.

NME is reporting that the 21 year-old Gilmour was arrested and imprisoned after films surfaced of him throwing a trash can at a car transporting Prince Charles and defacing the Cenotaph (which commemorates the British war dead) in London.

What a surprise to both to find out they were both headlining over the weekend. Both played various sets and workshops of the weekend in addition to their headlining spots and were received by ovations from the sold out crowd of 9,000.
