Bio
Brady Lavin is a jazz-influenced, rock guitarist and songwriter hailing from Chicago. While rock is his main squeeze, he has a serious crush on good jazz and tasty classical, both of which have been cultivated by studying with Dr. Matthew Warnock at Western Illinois University.
Currently finishing up degrees in Music Business and Accountancy at WIU in Macomb, IL, Brady ran the Macomb Rock N Rolla, a local music newsletter and entertainment guide, for three years. He spent his time with the RnR writing news articles, conducting interviews, selling ad space, reviewing, and editing all for the sole benefit of the music-living public, as all advertising proceeds went to bringing in guest artists to perform and teach for free.
Also active in the local music scene, Brady Lavin has performed across the Midwest in several bands across a wide variety of genres, including reggae/dub, rock, funk, jazz and jam band music. This smorgasbord of music is what excites him the most, and the need to constantly keep it fresh is his musical driving force.
As an alternative to the ailing Macomb live music scene, Brady also operates the Loft, Macomb’s premier Do-It-Yourself venue. The Loft showcases a lot of local talent from Macomb and the surrounding towns and also consistently books little-known but well-loved touring acts from around the nation, including Philadelphia, New York, New Orleans, Atlanta and many more.
No matter what genre is currently turning him on, Brady loves to play his PRS SE Custom 22 Semi-Hollow through Fender Amps.
