College Battle Rolls out Fourth Annual Competition with GRAMMY U® & Chegg to Find the Nation’s Top College Music Artist

Two-time GRAMMY® winner Andrew Scheps to produce track with winning artist  at the legendary Village Studios in LA
According to M2M PR, the search to find the best student bands, artists and musicians from all colleges and universities nationwide kicks off in New York City on April 22, 2012 when College Battle begins their fourth year.  Regional Battles around the country in five additional markets will follow with the winners competing in the National Finale Battle in Los Angeles in June.  This year’s winner will record with GRAMMY®-winning engineer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2) at The Village Studios in Los Angeles and will be featured as an opener on an upcoming Textbooks & Tickets concert, presented by Chegg.
Last year’s National Winner Land of Pines (U of Washington) joins the College Battle alumni ranks with notable past competition finalists including: Mike Posner (Duke), Local Natives (Pepperdine), and Rozzi Crane (USC) who was recently signed by Adam Levine and is currently featured on the Hunger Games soundtrack with Maroon 5.  The competition is free to enter and open to college-student music artists of any music genre including but not limited to: bands, solo artists, singer/songwriters, DJs, instrumentalists, rock, hip hop, electronic, country and more!
Throughout the College Battle competition, students will be battling for gear and cash prizing from partners Chegg, GRAMMY U®, SESAC, AKG, Propellerhead and additional promotional considerations from Live Nation, Campus MovieFest, Study Breaks, Creative Allies, PodShare Hollywood, Section 101 and O.N.E. Coconut Water.
Consistent with last season, the tour will feature host, popular YouTube personality and student-favorite hypeman Flula Borg.  Battles are judged by a panel of industry taste-makers in each region.  Past judges include the likes of: PJ Bloom (Music Supervisor, Glee), John Baker (Management, The Killers), Lisa Nupoff (A&R, Warner), Riggs Morales (Sr. Director of A&R, Shady Records), Scott Jacoby (GRAMMY-winning producer), John Houlihan (Music Supervisor, Austin Powers), Andrew Scheps (GRAMMY-winning engineer) and Rob Accatino (GRAMMY U).
