By: Arlene R. Weiss

Trevor Rabin’s record label, Varese Vintage Records/Varese Sarabande Records, graciously informed me in an Official Press Release today, March 7, 2012, that Trevor’s greatly anticipated, new, instrumental solo album, “Jacaranda”, will be released on May 8, 2012.  “Jacaranda” is a true labor of love for Rabin, and reflects the ongoing artistic scope, vision, inventiveness, and many diverse music influences, including jazz, rock, and classical, that Trevor has continually embraced, and which continue to inform, his immense virtuosity and sublime artistry.

The multi-talented songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, film composer, (and singer), composed all of the album’s songs, and produced and arranged “Jacaranda”.  Trevor plays all of the instruments on the album with the exception of his longtime drummer Lou Molino III who plays drums, as well as also featuring the amazing percussion of Vinnie Colaiuta and Trevor’s son Ryan who also play drums. Bassist Tal Wilkenfeld also guests on “Jacaranda” and plays on the song “Anerley Road”.  Singer Liz Constintine who previously sang on Trevor’s film score which he composed for the 2006 Kevin Costner film, “The Guardian”, sings on the track, “Rescue” which was inspired by the film.

Trevor also has a soon to be released video showcasing “Jacaranda”, which features Lou Molino III on drums and Tal Wilkenfeld on bass.

Looking forward to getting this once funds present itself again. Love your solo & Rabbit work, as well as the revelation that has been your film work since I enjoyed Eraser from the projection booth as a presentation manager @ our local 14 plex theatre in 1997 or so; which made those long days & nights somewhat bearable. Keep up the amazing work.

    Be Well…Best Health & Happiness to You,Your Family & Friends…ALK
